Leah Gaines Messick


Leah Gaines Messick is a Statesville native. She attended Statesville High School and graduated in 2005. After high school, Leah went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she graduated in 2009 with a double major in Political Science and Criminal Justice, and a minor in Women’s Studies. After college, Leah then went on to law school at the North Carolina Central University School of Law, where she graduated with a Juris Doctoral degree in 2012.

After law school, Leah moved back to Statesville to practice law with the firm of Homesley, Gaines, and Dudley. Her main practice areas include civil litigation, personal injury, misdemeanor criminal offenses, and domestic and family law.

She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Iredell County Bar Association. She is also admitted to practice in the Western District of the United States District Court. Leah and her husband Michael reside in Statesville with their two dogs, Dutch and Bear.
